Anterria and Exorassa
My anterria are custom-tailored and finished with reversible fronts, drawstring
belt, fully-functioning button cuff, decorative stitching and braid detail on fronts,
and hip pockets with pass-through (you can access your pants pocket through a slit in
the back of the hip pocket). Chest pockets have a cell phone/pen pocket. Fabrics
available are poly-cotton (black or navy blue), poly-wool (black, navy, gray), tropical-
weight wool (black, navy blue, gray, taupe, off-white, burgundy) or true silk crepe
(black or navy). The standard collar style is a cross-over style with double loops and
buttons on each side. This type of collar completely hides your shirt collar. The
“deluxe” upgrade includes a mandarin collar (the collar is slightly rounded and fastens
with a hook-and-eye rather than buttons), burgundy satin cuff linings, and triple
scallop stitching on the fronts. The deluxe upgrade is good for a “Sunday” or “dress”
anterri.
My exorasson are custom-tailored and finished with crepe satin linings in the fronts
and sleeves, and mandarin collar with silk knot button. Fabrics available are poly-
wool, tropical-weight wool, or true silk crepe. All exorassa are black.

Clergy Vests
I offer three styles of clergy vests (wool, lined; poly-cotton, unlined; heavyweight
wool melton). The wool vest is fully lined with an inside lining pocket, hidden
placket (this means that the buttons don't show), and two elegant single-welt pockets.
It is an excellent garment to wear over an anterri in place of an exorasson (see
below). The poly-cotton vest is unlined, has a hidden placket, and two patch
pockets on the front. It is perfect for a durable, everyday garment. The
heavyweight, wool melton clergy vest has patch pockets and bias bindings.
Tropical-weight wool clergy vest $185
Poly-cotton clergy vest $145
Heavyweight wool melton clergy vest $150
These are sold in standard sizes (Men's Small, Medium, Large and X-Large) and are
available for immediate shipment. If you are not sure which size to purchase, just
email me your chest and waist measurement and I will determine which size is correct.
Also known as "kontorasson", clergy vests are quite popular in Greece and are gaining
in popularity here in the U.S. In Greece, it is traditional for the priest or
deacon to wear the anterri (cassock) with the exorasson for street wear. The
exorasson is a full garment and rather unwieldy for street wear, so over the years, it
has gotten smaller and smaller until it has evolved into the "kontorasson". It is
helpful to think of the clergy vest as completing the outfit of a priest or deacon just
as a suitcoat completes the outfit of a businessman. It is frequently takes the
place of a coat and can be quite practical since it has so many pockets (nice for
hospital visitations and the like).
As I continue to offer high-quality and traditional clerical wear, I will be adding
a kontorasson coat in the fall. This garment is similar to the clergy vest, but
with sleeves and made out of a heavier-weight wool. It is designed to completely
replace the need for an overcoat when wearing an anterri.
